Description
Balocco Savoiardi Ladyfingers are finger-shaped sponge cakes. Ladyfingers are used in making Italian Tiramisu or used as a side with coffee or tea.
Savoiardi, or “ladyfingers”, are sweet, light, and delicate oval-shaped biscuits used as a versatile ingredient in many desserts.
These cakes originated in the 15th century at the court of the Duchy of Savoy and were created to mark the occasion of a visit by the King of France.
Later they were given the name Savoiardi and recognized as an official court cookie.
The essential biscuit for tiramisu.
